Professional Background
Chris graduated from the University of Surrey in 2018, and achieved a distinction in his Legal Practice Course with the University of Law in 2020.
Expertise
Chris worked with a firm in the Cotswolds for nearly five years and qualified as a solicitor in July 2024. He has also recently obtained his STEP Certificate in Trusts & Estates (with distinction), with a view to studying towards his STEP Diploma.
Chris has worked in the private client sector for around three years, developing expertise in a wide-range of fields including:
• Preparing and advising clients as to bespoke wills and lasting powers of attorney;
• Advising and assisting executors and administrators with administration of estates, including those with agricultural and business elements;
• Preparing applications to and appearing before the Court of Protection in respect of individuals who lack capacity to manage their own property and affairs, including applications for deputyship orders and surrounding the scope of an attorneys’ powers.
Notable experience:
• Preparing tax-efficient wills for a couple with interests in a small business;
• Preparing a deed of variation to allow a beneficiary to pass on their inheritance to the next generation in a tax-efficient manner;
• Successfully representing an attorney in the Court of Protection in which the attorney sought to purchase, at market value, the home of the person who made the lasting power of attorney.
