Wansbroughs announces new Agriculture and Landed Estates team, as well as the formation of a Landed Estates Group

Wansbroughs is pleased to announce the formation of its new Agriculture and Landed Estates team (ALE); a dedicated group of experts focused on delivering specialist advice and support to our clients in the agricultural and rural estate sectors.

This strategic development recognises the continued growth in work undertaken for high net worth individuals in the agricultural and landed estates sector, and is designed to meet the increasing needs of clients requiring comprehensive legal guidance in areas such as agricultural law, land use, inheritance planning, corporate structuring of estates and more.

The ALE team will be led by Alan Ciechan, who has more than 40 years’ experience and is a specialist in advising landed estate owners. Partners Andrew Jenkins and Jennifer Vooght will support Alan and are top experts in their fields, trusted by landowners, farmers and multiple generations of landed families for their expertise in complex agricultural matters.

The ALE team will be enhanced by the addition of Partner, Philip Wigg, who will be moving internally and who brings particular knowledge in farming partnerships and agricultural agreements.

Anna Wensley Stock, Co-Managing Partner, will continue to lead the firm’s Private Client team (advising on Wills, Tax, Trusts and Estates) and will be supported by partners Emily Anderson, Kathryn Smith Cowap and Tom Britten.

The firm also announces the formation of a Landed Estates Group (LEG). This will have the ALE team at its core and will also include specialists across the Commercial Property team (including Neil Patterson, Chris Ware and Jonathan Bruton) and the Corporate and Commercial team (including William Ingram Hill, Emma Jewell and Katen Patel).

The specialists in the LEG team have extensive specialist knowledge across the landed estates sector, including in relation to agriculture, planning, mining and renewable energy.

William Ingram Hill, Chair and Partner, comments:

“The establishment of the new Landed Estates Group, with the Agriculture and Landed Estates team at its core, will expand our capabilities as a law firm and demonstrates our commitment to providing a full service offering to our clients in the agricultural and estates sector. Wansbroughs is uniquely well-equipped to navigate the particular legal challenges faced by landowners, farmers and rural businesses.”
