Securing Your Legacy: The Role of a Will

We can all appreciate that being a first-time buyer in 2024 is not the same as it was just a few generations ago. Now young investors looking to purchase their first property may have to rely on inheritance to do so. It is easy to assume that your estate will naturally pass to your children when you pass away but without a Will, this is not guaranteed.
In 2023 there were 122 contested probate cases that went all the way to trial, up from 116 cases in 2022, according to the Ministry of Justice Family Court Statistics. The rise in these cases is not surprising as more complex family structures become increasingly common, and when considering that in 2024 it is reported that only 32% of people have a Will.
At Wansbroughs, we will ensure that your Will reflects your wishes whether you want to help your children get on the property ladder or benefit family members who would not be entitled under the rules of intestacy. To review your Will or put one in place, please get in touch with your usual contact at Wansbroughs or by emailing wealth@wansbroughs.com.
