Inheritance tax: have reports of its death been greatly exaggerated?
As if the UK Government hasn’t given us enough to think about this week, we are now less than a week away from the Chancellor’s autumn statement. The statement is due on 22 November 2023 and there has been a lot of speculation about what might happen to inheritance tax.
It remains to be seen whether reports of the death of inheritance tax have been greatly exaggerated. However, many surveys continue to cite inheritance tax as the most unpopular of the taxes, and so there is every chance that some changes may be forthcoming.
