Tim is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team. He advises on employment law and a broad spectrum of civil disputes, including matters involving land, probate and partnerships. Known for his practical and strategic approach, Tim delivers clear, solution-oriented advice to individuals and businesses alike.

 

Professional Background

A graduate of the University of Hull, Tim qualified as a solicitor in 1988, having trained at Withy King and Lee in Bath. After qualification, he gained experience at Osbourne Clarke and later Eversheds, before joining Wansbroughs in 1997 and becoming a Partner in 2006. Tim is also an accredited mediator, assisting clients in resolving disputes through alternative dispute resolution whenever appropriate.

    • Boundary demarcation and registration disputes
    • Rights of way and easement claims
    • Party wall and encroachment issues
  • Contentious Probate – handling complex probate and inheritance disputes, including:
    • Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims
    • Challenges to will validity (undue influence, lack of capacity, improper execution)
    • Disputes between executors, trustees and beneficiaries
  • Partnership Disputes – advising on all types of partnership disputes, such as:
    • Disputes regarding partnership assets and valuation
    • Partnership dissolution, retirement, and buyout negotiations
    • Breach of partnership agreements and fiduciary duties

 

Notable Experience:

  • Acting for a farmer in court proceedings and mediation concerning a neighbour’s encroachment onto agricultural land.
  • Advising and representing a beneficiary of a deceased estate in a dispute with another beneficiary regarding the disposal of the deceased’s land and property, including representation during negotiations.
  • Advising a manufacturing company on a range of employment matters, including restructuring, long term ill health absences, disciplinary issues and a capability matter.
  • Advising a member of an agricultural partnership on dissolution and representing them in subsequent negotiations.
