Katen Patel is an Associate in our Corporate & Commercial team and advises on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including business sales & purchases, corporate governance, commercial contracts and company formations.
Katen graduated from the Open University in 2018 and University of Law in 2019. He qualified in September 2021.
Katen gained his early experience at Parker Bullen Solicitors before joining Wansbroughs in January 2023. Katen was promoted to Associate in September 2024.
Recent experience:
- Advised the board of an AIM-listed public company on its £7.76m sale by way of a Scheme of Arrangement, including liaising with the company’s advisers and drafting transaction documents.
- Advised a private equity investor on multiple acquisitions in the media and events sector, involving three established businesses with a combined deal value of £5m.
- Acted for a central London retail chain on five successive cash-for-equity fundraises totalling over £2m, including negotiating investment terms and related security arrangements.
- Prepared corporate governance documentation for joint ventures and early-stage businesses, including detailed shareholder agreements and bespoke constitutional arrangements.
- Negotiated an exclusive distribution agreement on behalf of a UK distributor with a global veterinary practice.
- Advised two owner-managed franchise businesses in the care and accountancy sectors in relation to acquisitions by way of a share sale &purchase.
