Jennifer is a Partner at Wansbroughs and leads the firm’s Agricultural & Landed Estates Team. She advises farmers, landowners and rural business owners on succession planning, trusts, tax and estate matters, with a particular focus on protecting family wealth and helping businesses and landed assets pass successfully to the next generation. Known for her practical and personal approach, Jennifer builds lasting relationships with clients and their families, offering clear, bespoke advice on often complex and sensitive issues.

 

Professional Background

Jennifer graduated from the University of Exeter with a first-class Law degree and joined Wansbroughs as a trainee solicitor in 2007, qualifying into the Wills, Tax, Trusts & Probate Team in 2009. She became a Partner in 2019 and was appointed Head of the Agricultural & Landed Estates Team in 2026. Jennifer is a full member of STEP and holds the TEP qualification, a recognised mark of expertise in advising on trusts, estates, tax and succession planning.

 

Expertise

  • Succession planning – advising on succession planning for farms, estates and rural businesses, including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and partnership arrangements, helping clients put robust plans in place for the future and protecting the continuity of family assets across generations.
  • Detailed tax planning – Jennifer’s work includes reviewing the ownership and structure of agricultural and business assets, advising on lifetime gifts and trusts, and preparing tax-efficient Wills to help clients preserve wealth and maximise available reliefs wherever possible.
  • Creating and administering trusts – advising on the creation and administration of trusts for a range of personal, family and tax-planning purposes, including the protection of land, succession of development assets, provision for vulnerable beneficiaries, second family situations and longer-term preservation of wealth for future generations.
  • Administering estates – she has extensive experience in estate administration, including complex and high-value estates involving farms, landed property, business interests, trusts and overseas assets, providing families with clear guidance at what is often a difficult time.
  • Varying estates – Jennifer also advises on post-death planning, including deeds of variation and the use of trusts, to help families make the most of tax-saving opportunities and secure agricultural and business assets in a way that supports future generations.
