James is a corporate and commercial solicitor who advises SMEs, owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs across Wiltshire and further afield. He provides practical legal support on business sales and acquisitions, shareholder and partnership agreements, corporate restructures and commercial contracts.
Professional Background
James graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2017 with an undergraduate degree in Law. He then spent some time working with a charity before returning to university to complete his LPC and master’s degree in law, graduating in 2021.
James relocated from London to Wiltshire to complete his training contract, and since qualifying as a solicitor in September 2023 has worked as a corporate and commercial solicitor. James joined Wansbroughs in August 2026.
Expertise
James advises businesses at different stages of their development on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including:
- Buying and selling companies and businesses through share sales and asset sales;
- Advising on and preparing shareholder and partnership agreements;
- Advising on company reorganisations and corporate restructuring; and
- Drafting, reviewing and advising on commercial contracts.
Approach
James focuses on adding commercial value, not simply providing legal advice. He takes time at the outset to understand each client’s business, priorities and wider commercial circumstances. This enables him to recommend a practical and effective approach that supports the client’s objectives and draws on both his legal knowledge and commercial awareness.
Client Offering
James advises sole traders, family businesses, partnerships, SMEs and larger organisations in Wiltshire, London and further afield. Whether you are buying or selling a business, planning a restructure, putting an agreement in place or reviewing your commercial contracts, James can provide clear, practical legal advice tailored to your objectives.
