Anne is a Chartered Legal Executive in our Family team and has practised in Family Law for over 28 years. Anne specialises in Children Law and Practice. Most of her work is with families involved with Social Services including supporting parents whose children are subject to Child Protection Plans, those going through the Pre-Proceedings process as well as representation within Care Proceedings in Court. Anne also represents children through their Court appointed Children’s Guardians. She has experience in advising and supporting families and professionals who are involved in complex care proceedings.
Anne completed her qualifications as a Chartered Legal Executive in 1994. She was a Practice Manager in a Private Law firm for 16 years but has also worked for Local Authorities for 12 years including working at Birmingham City Council as a Child Care Lawyer. Anne joined Wansbroughs In 2019 from her role as Principal Childcare Lawyer at Swindon Borough Council.
Anne is an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel.
Recent experience:
- Representing parents in pre-proceedings and court care proceedings brought by the Local Authority looking to address the concerns raised and keep children with their birth families wherever possible.
- Representing grandparents, other relatives or connected persons such as foster carers who are seeking to provide a home for children where they cannot be cared for by their parents, advising on the duties of the Local Authority to provide support (practical and financial) to Special Guardians and Adopters as well as ongoing contact arrangements, change of name and travel abroad.
- Advising and representing professional clients such as Children’s Guardians, Foster Carers, Social Workers and Local Authorities.
