We’re all going on a summer holiday!
Many of us are looking forward to a well-deserved break over the summer holidays. This might be your first opportunity to go abroad post lockdown or you might be taking advantage of a staycation in the British Isles.
Whatever your destination (and however long it takes you to get there!) this may be a time to reflect and re-evaluate. You could use that extra time in a traffic jam to think about whether your personal affairs are up to date and reflect your present circumstances.
1. Do you have a valid Will in place and is up to date?
2. Would a discussion about your estate and tax planning be useful?
3. Do you have Lasting Powers of Attorney in place both for (a) property and finances and (b) health and welfare?
Wansbroughs’ private client team is able to offer advice in relation to Will drafting, trusts and estate planning as well as Lasting Powers of Attorney. We can help ensure your affairs are fully up to date.
NB. Trust Registration Service
If you are the trustee of a trust, now is the time to check whether you need to be registering the trust with HMRC’s Trust Registration Service (TRS). Following the recent introduction of the 5th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (5MLD), with a few exceptions, all non-taxable express trusts are now required to register. If you are unsure as to whether your trust requires registering, please get in touch as we can help.
In the meantime, enjoy your time off and feel free to contact your usual contact or email wealth@wansbroughs.com upon your return!
