Wansbroughs selects Dorothy House as Charity of the Year
We’re pleased to announce that Dorothy House Hospice has been selected as Wansbroughs’ Charity of the Year. Dorothy House is a well‑respected local charity providing compassionate end‑of‑life care and support for people with life‑limiting illness, as well as vital support for families, friends and carers across our community. This year marks Dorothy House’s 50th anniversary, making it a particularly meaningful time for us to offer our support. Our Charity of the Year is chosen through an internal process that reflects the views of people across the firm and our connection to the communities in which we work. Dorothy House emerged as a strong choice, and we’re looking forward to supporting their work over the coming year.
A charity with strong personal connections
One of the reasons Dorothy House resonated so strongly is the personal connection that already exists within the firm. Emma Jewell, Partner, who has volunteered with Dorothy House for the past eight years, shared why she is delighted with the charity’s selection:
“Dorothy House does extraordinary work for people and families at the most difficult times in their lives. Volunteering there over the past eight years has shown me the compassion and dedication of everyone involved. I’m really pleased that Wansbroughs has chosen to support Dorothy House, particularly in such a significant year for the charity.”
Supporting Dorothy House together
Over the coming months, colleagues across the firm will have opportunities to get involved in supporting Dorothy House, including fundraising and volunteering activities. Wansbroughs’ Corporate Social Responsibility Working Group, commented:
“Dorothy House is a charity that means a great deal to many people locally. It was a close decision, but Dorothy House stood out as a cause that reflects our values and our commitment to supporting our community. We’re looking forward to working with them and playing our part in supporting the important work they do.”
Members of the firm will also be attending Dorothy House events over the year to learn more about their work and how Wansbroughs can provide meaningful support. We have a full roster of fundraising events and challenges through the year.
