Wansbroughs announces Julia’s House as Charity of the Year
Wansbroughs is pleased to announce children’s hospice charity, Julia’s House as its ‘Charity of the Year’ from 1 May 2023 – 30 April 2024.
Julia’s House is an award-winning children’s hospice in Wiltshire and Dorset which provides practical and emotional support for families caring for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Julia’s House provides regular support to the children and their families: in their own homes, in the community, or on-site at the Wiltshire or Dorset hospices.
With one of the hospices located in Devizes, Wansbroughs is very aware of the role Julia’s House plays in caring for families across our community. Their dedication and outstanding service are evident in the care that they provide and the fundraising events and initiatives organised each year.
Julia’s House continues to provide valuable support to one of our own members of staff and her family. Personal Injury Solicitor, Jenna Humphries has been supported by Julia’s House since 2017 when daughter Ellie (aged only six months) was diagnosed with a massive brain tumor. In just a few years, Ellie has endured intensive surgery, chemotherapy, pneumonia and a stroke that has left her partially sighted and with no movement down her right side. Although things have improved for Ellie, who is now aged six and has started school, she still needs considerable personal and medical care from her family and the Julia’s House team. Throughout everything, Julia’s House has been by their side and supported them all.
Wansbroughs ‘Charity of the Year’ pledge to Julia’s House will rally staff behind this wonderful local charity and demonstrate our commitment to supporting them over the next year. The firm will support the charity in a number of ways including volunteering at events, bake sales, and will also become the lead sponsor of the charity’s ‘Big Teddy Takeover’ in June 2023 and the Christmas tree recycling scheme in January 2024.
Kayleigh Tindalid, Marketing Executive at Wansbroughs comments:
“Julia’s House is a charity close to our hearts at Wansbroughs and we have been extremely touched to see the unfaltering compassion and support that they provide to all families under their care.
“We have supported Julia’s House on an ad-hoc basis over the years, but this year felt that we wanted to extend our support and show them just how much we appreciate everything they do for our community. The team at Julia’s House is wonderful to work with and an absolute credit to the charity. We look forward to continuing our support over the coming months.”
Jo Common, Corporate Fundraiser at Julia’s House comments:
“We love working closely with the team at Wansbroughs and are delighted that they have chosen to us to be their Charity of the Year. We are already making plans for our Christmas Tree Collection scheme in January 2024, so to have Wansbroughs’ pledge of sponsorship for this activity is such a boost.
“Here at Julia’s House, we are almost entirely reliant on donations to support our lifeline of care for local families and only receive around 8% ongoing government funding, so it is thanks to the incredible support from organisations like Wansbroughs that we are able to provide this vital care.”
