Alan is a solicitor and Partner with over 30 years experience advising on inheritance tax and capital gains tax savings measures including an in-depth understanding of the use of trusts and settlements within tax planning and asset protection. He has acted for landowners and business owners as well as other individuals, specialising in providing tax efficient solutions in areas such as passing wealth on to future generations.
Alan's expertise also includes the preparation of tax efficient wills and he also regularly advises on the formation and drafting of trust documents and family partnerships. He has experience working on probate matters since 1981.

Route to Law

Alan gained an LLB (Hons) degree in Law at Nottingham and qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and was for many years a partner at one of the leading London firms in the field of tax planning for individuals. Alan joined Wansbroughs as a partner in 2004 and has been a member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) since 1991.
