Compensation for Flagstone Trip

An 81-year-old woman who tripped on a loose flagstone and injured her knee has been awarded compensation.

Lilian Morgan tripped whilst walking through Northwich town centre. Since the accident, she has had to use a walking stick and has been unable to carry out tasks she was previously able to do, such as decorating.

Cheshire County Council was ordered to pay compensation of £1,500 plus costs.
The council has a legal obligation to maintain pavements in a safe condition.
