Katie understands the emotional complexities of each individuals case and will always assist her clients by providing clear and sensible advice in many areas of Family Law including:

  • Resolution of financial issues as a result of relationship breakdown through negotiation, Court proceedings or other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
  • Non-molestation and occupation order applications in cases involving domestic abuse.
  • Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.
  • Separation agreements for couples who do not necessarily want to divorce but wish to officially document their financial arrangements upon separation.
  • Arrangements relating to children, including disputes with regards to contact and whom the child(ren) should live with.
  • Cohabitation agreements for unmarried couples.
  • Schedule 1 applications for financial provision on behalf of children of unmarried families.
Katie has a firm but caring approach when dealing with all Family matters. She believes that working in a non confrontational and constructive manner is always in the client’s best interest, being both efficient and cost effective.

Route to Law

Katie graduated with honours in her Law Degree in 2008 and after a period of travel and volunteering, she completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York in 2011. Katie joined Wansbroughs in October 2014 after working and training at a large regional firm in Leeds city centre.

Personal Interests

Katie enjoys travelling, especially campervanning and skiing. She loves spending time with her family, socialising with friends and she has recently found a new passion for playing Squash.
